Homeowner: Marlis Cornett
Artist: Marlis Cornett

Marlis Cornett has a sun filled studio loft that she uses as on office for her graphic design and illustration business as well as a painting and glass etching studio. Her love of color and shape is evident in the various mediums she explores. Marlis’ paintings range from vivid florals to subdued landscapes with a recent exploration of portraiture. Her etched glass pieces are functional works of art which result in one-of-a-kind barware, tableware and lamps.

Marlis’ work has been accepted and honored in various juried exhibitions in the Southeast and is also found in private residences nationwide. She illustrated the children’s book, What if Everybody Did? by Trina Johns and recently wrote the book Easy Glass Etching, published by Sterling Publishing Co.

Marlis received a BA in Fine Art from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH and studied Illustration at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. She is an Atlanta native.
